Christophe Dierckx - Suppressed rage & the autonomic nervous system

From Finance to Fascination

Originally trained as an economist working in high - stress, high - stakes international finance (think derivatives and futures trading across continents), Christophe's life took a dramatic turn when he began experiencing severe sleep apnea, stopping breathing up to 37 times an hour. Traditional medicine didn’t offer much relief - but hypnosis did.

Yet, it wasn’t standard hypnosis that helped. As Christophe explains, “direct and indirect suggestion didn’t shift anything.” But once he explored spiritual and ritualistic forms of hypnosis, things began to change. This sparked his journey into becoming a full-time hypnotist, trainer, and international speaker.

The Link Between Rage and the Body

What led Christophe into exploring suppressed rage was a mix of experience, intuition, and science. As a lover of the Simpson Protocol in Belgium, and a clinical hypnotherapist seeing clients with complex issues, he started to notice a pattern. Many clients presented with unresolved physical pain that didn’t align with their medical diagnoses. It wasn’t just back pain, it was something deeper - emotional energy stuck in the body.

He references a UK study showing that 68% of people with bulging spinal discs had no back pain - suggesting the pain wasn’t necessarily structural. Similarly, research into fibromyalgia and depression has shown reduced oxygen levels in muscle tissue, despite the use of oxygen therapies. The real culprit? The autonomic nervous system, which is directly influenced by subconscious emotional states.

Hypnosis as Emotional Reclamation

Rage, Christophe argues, is often the most repressed emotion in modern society. We’re told to “smile,” “be nice,” and “get on with it.” But unresolved rage doesn’t disappear - it lodges itself into the body. Through finely tuned hypnotic inquiry, Christophe has developed techniques to help clients identify and release these emotional blocks.

He asks, "Is there an emotion stuck in the physical body?" And repeatedly, clients respond yes, with rage and anger being the most common culprits. By creating symbolic environments within hypnosis sessions, clients are given a “second chance” to safely express and release these emotions—freeing the nervous system to reset and the body to heal.
